I went to the library!

If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that I finally got around to going to our local library and got myself a card. I've been in major need of some new books, but I'm too afraid to buy books unless I know I like/will like them. I actually wasn't prepared for our trip to the library, it was spur of the moment while we were running errands, so I didn't have my list with me. I could only remember two books off of my list! They were out of one and the other was Wildwood by Colin Meloy. I've been wanting to read this book for ages. I think I actually saw someone mention it in a blog post. So far I like it, but I'm only about a 1/5 through it. I'll let you know what I think when I'm done. One thing I do know is that the illustrations are gorgeous. I wouldn't mind having a lot of them framed and hanging on my wall. Especially the one in the picture I posted below.

I had some pretty low expectations of the library we have here. The reviews I read online were not very good and knowing the area where it's located...yeah my expectations were not great. It doesn't help that I was very spoiled with the library I used to go to. But! I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The library is beautiful! It's pretty small but they have a decent sized collection and a huge reading area, plus the girl who helped us sign up for a card was really nice and helpful! They also have a "Discovery Zone" in the kids section with different animals for the kids to look at. It was pretty cool.

I'm so excited to start reading again! I love anything that gets me off of my laptop for a little while. I feel like I've been on it a little too much since we moved to California. I'm also really happy I can start on my goal for 2014. I'm going to be really impressed with myself if I read 30 or more books this year. Which is hilarious since I used to read almost double that in a year when I was younger. I'm still adding books to my book list on Pinterest if you want to check them out, and if you have any recommendations I would love to hear them!
