It tells the story of Mary Queen of Scots while she waits at French court to marry Prince Francis who she's been engaged to since childhood. She is joined by four of her friends, or ladies in waiting, from Scotland.
It's like a combination of Gossip Girl and Game of Thrones (minus the nudity and language, it is on the CW after all). While not always historically accurate, the show is definitely entertaining and much smarter than most other shows you find on the CW. Every episode you have Mary trying to do what's right for her people and her country while also trying to do what's best for herself. It's full of plotting, politics, romance (Francis!!), mystery, and a little bit of the supernatural. And I've gotta say, the clothes alone are worth watching for.
